Table OCR and Excel Export Guide

Jun 13, 2026

Table OCR is for documents where rows and columns matter more than paragraphs. Start with Table OCR, Image to Excel, or PDF to Excel.

Good table sources

Use the clearest version of the table. Avoid skewed photos, shadows, and screenshots where grid lines are hidden.

Example result:

Date,Vendor,Amount
2026-06-01,Acme Paper,128.40
2026-06-02,Northwind Logistics,980.00

Review before export

Check totals, merged cells, and decimal points. OCR can confuse 8 and B, or miss a separator in financial documents.

Export choices

Use CSV for simple tables, Excel for spreadsheet work, Markdown for reports, and JSON when the table will be imported into another product.

For finance documents, use Invoice OCR, Receipt OCR, or Bank Statement OCR. For automated extraction, use the OCR API and track costs on Pricing.
